Did you know ?

Did you know that Vanilla pods come from Orchids? They are manually pollinated. The flower opens for pollination for only 6 hours. The ripening time is 275 days when the flower turns into a pod and its color appears yellowish. After that, approximately 90 more days are required for it to dry in the sun and turn into the brown color we all recognize. The total time for growing and ripening a vanilla pod is 365 days!
